What AI Therapy Note Taker Pricing Actually Costs at 40, 80, and 160 Notes

Priya has three tabs open and a budget due Friday. One vendor is $19.99 with 40 notes. One is $35 a seat on top of an EHR she already pays for. One is $1 per session with a $69 monthly cap. That is AI therapy note taker pricing as a buyer actually meets it: numbers that look comparable until you line up free allowances, caps, seats, annual billing, and the EHR underneath.

There is no default cheapest tool. At 40 notes a month, a capped Mini plan can beat a flat unlimited seat. At 160 notes, the same Mini plan is the wrong row, and a $20 unlimited tool can beat a $49 unlimited seat. If the notes SKU only exists on top of a chart you already buy, the add-on is never the whole bill.

The six lines every quote has to fill

Copy these into a sheet before you compare demos.

1. Free allowance. Standing monthly notes at $0, a time-boxed trial, or a handful of starter sessions that do not reset. These are not the same thing.
2. Cap. Notes per month, sessions per month, or unlimited. If 80 notes would force a higher tier, that is the price at 80, not the sticker on the tier below.
3. Seat. Per clinician, per account, or a first-user plus extra-user rate.
4. Annual versus monthly. Several vendors print the annual-equivalent rate in the default toggle. Use the cadence you will actually pay.
5. EHR underneath. Standalone notes layer, or an add-on that only exists if you already pay SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, or Jane.
6. BAA on this tier. Yes, no, or not published. A BAA on a more expensive plan does not cover the cheap plan.

At 40 notes, Mentalyc Mini at $19.99, Quill at $20, and Supanote Starter starting at $19.99 are cheaper than Emosapien Solo Starter at $49. Say that out loud in the budget meeting. At 80 and 160, Quill at $20 and Supanote Pro starting at $39.99 still undercut $49. Blueprint is cheaper than $49 at 40 notes and more expensive at 160. Paid Upheal is $40 at 40 notes and $69 at 80 and 160, so it beats $49 only at the low volume in this table.

If Priya already runs Jane, the $15 AI Scribe add-on beats every standalone paid row in this table. If she already runs SimplePractice, $35 inside the chart beats $49 beside it on cash, and loses if she only needed a $20 unlimited layer and was willing to paste.

Upheal’s free plan is the $0 column when the note types on that plan are enough. That is a real cheaper outcome. It is not the paid Individual path, and it is not every note type Upheal sells.

Quill at $68 for four clinicians is cheaper than Emosapien Practice Starter at $236 at every volume in this table. Mentalyc Mini × 4 at $79.96 is cheaper at 40 notes each. Jane’s $60 notes add-on is cheaper if Jane is already the chart. SimplePractice at $461 all-in is not competing with a $68 notes layer.
